Busy day at Slemish

Busy day at Slemish

Slemish. An A4 print using the giclee print process on high quality paper.

Today, the mountain’s surrounding patchwork of fields remains active farmland, largely focused on livestock and sheep production, while Slemish itself is protected as an Environmentally Sensitive Area. According to local tradition, Saint Patrick was brought to the area as an enslaved youth and spent six years herding sheep on the slopes of Slemish. It was during this period of isolation that he turned to prayer, leading to his spiritual conversion before his eventual escape and return as a missionary.
